Official Caddying Story: Fred Gaudelli

Fred Gaudelli is the executive producer of NBC’s Sunday Night Football , but his very first job was as a caddie. In January 2021, he completed his 31st season as the lead producer for an NFL primetime game, and his 15th season producing SNF. In August 2020, Gaudelli was honored as a member of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020 for career-long excellence in the sports TV and media industry. A 23-time Emmy Award winner, Gaudelli’s five prior Super Bowls (XXXVII, XL, XLIII, XLVI and XLIX) include Super Bowl XLIX, which still ranks as the most-watched program in U.S. TV history with an average of 114.4 million viewers. Gaudelli introduced the critically acclaimed 1st & Ten technology, the electronically produced yellow line that appears to be painted across the field at the first down marker, the GoalPost Cam and the rotating clock/score box. Additionally, while working at ESPN and producing the 1988 College World Series, Gaudelli introduced the technique of live tracking the speed of pitches – a first on television. A native of Harrison, N.Y., Gaudelli earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Long Island University/C.W. Post in 1982. He currently resides in Madison, Conn., and has a daughter, Reese.

Official Caddying Story: Jeff DiModica

Jeff DiModica has been President of Starwood Property Trust since 2014 and served as an external director of the Company from its inception in 2009 to 2014. In his current role, he leads each of the Company’s business lines including Large Loan Lending, Residential Lending, Infrastructure Lending, Property Investing, and CMBS Investing & Serving, which have a collective $18 billion of assets under management. Mr. DiModica was honored to be ranked in the top-10 of Commercial Observer’s “The 50 Most Important Figures of Commercial Real Estate Finance” list for the last 4 years.

Mr. DiModica played on his state champion high school golf team in Melrose, MA, in 1981 and founded the Boston University golf team that is a varsity sport today. He has maintained a low single-digit handicap for 40 years but is 0-6 in club championship finals and looks forward to turning 55 in the spring to finally compete in the seniors! His only “gold-paint” hangs in the ladies locker room at La Gorce CC in Miami Beach where he and his wife Kay are the reigning net husband/wife champions. The Golf-Gods have spoken.

Official Caddying Story: Skip Bronson

Richard “Skip” Bronson is Chairman of The Bronson Companies, LLC, a real estate development, investment and advisory company based in Beverly Hills, California. He serves as a director of both Starwood Property Trust, Inc. and Invitation Homes, Inc. Skip previously served as a director of Mirage Resorts and of TRI Pointe Group, Inc. He is on the Advisory Board of the Neurosurgery Division at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, and he and his wife, Edie Baskin Bronson, were the recipients of the department’s 2018 “Visionary Award”. Skip has also served as a Trustee and Vice President of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of The Forman School in Litchfield, Connecticut, and the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles, California. Skip started caddying at a young age, and golf has been ever-present in his life. He is even part of the ownership group of Sweetens Cove Golf Club.

Official Caddying Story: David Podas PGA

David Podas is the Bel-Air Country Club’s Director of Golf. Dave, as he’s more casually known, is not only a longtime member of the PGA of America but also serves on its Rules Committee. Additionally, Dave is a devoted member of Titleist’s national advisory board. Though a Minnesota native, it was caddying in Arizona that helped launch his venerable golf career. Whether it's working as a rules official in one of golf’s majors, competing in the 2007 Buick Invitational (won by Tiger Woods), desperately trying to improve Al Michaels’ golf swing, or regularly squaring off against Corey Pavin, there isn’t much that he hasn’t experienced in the game.
